I did shopping around noon today to pick up the baking supplies I needed so that I would be home before it hit...I was.
About 4pm, the rain began and it is still going. Forecasts call for rain all the way through to tomorrow late afternoon. I did hear the sand/salt trucks come by just in case but the temperatures are supposed to stay above freezing the entire time.
It is damp and so the cold is chilly. I put up the window sealing plastic up in my bedroom. If you're not familiar with it, first you apply double sided adhesive tape all around the window frame, then attach a sheet of plastic to the tape, and finally I have a heat gun that I use carefully to make the plastic taut. Remember, I live in an extremely old house and the windows are single and leak like a sieve.
Last night was the first night I had the three windows sealed and it did make a difference. Still, it's not the warmest room.
I have almost finished another snowman, just have to add the face and buttons. I want to make one more small one so I have a trio of snowman. I have been looking for a crochet pattern to make a tree to go with the snowmen...I think I have finally found one I like. Going to try out the pattern this evening.
Do you realize that Christmas is ten days away? How are you doing with everything? If you can, keep it simple. For instance, we have the tree up with lights, but that's going to be it...no ornaments this year and we are fine with that.
And as I have said before, my baking is going to be simpler. Tomorrow, I am going to try a couple vegan cookie recipes to see if they turn out. Last year, the ones I made were not great so I am trying completely different recipes.
