Today is forecast to be sunny and warm...almost 80. I plan to finish planting flowers that I picked up earlier this week and to finish the patio! Finally!
I only have one errand to run today so that will leave a lot of time to work on my to-do list.
Today I want to acquaint you with an author who is often called the American Agatha Christie...Mary Roberts Rinehart who lived from August 1876 to September 1958. She graduated from a School of Nursing and married a doctor, started a family and then begin to write.
Her first story, The Circular Staircase, a mystery, was first published in Munsey's Magazine in 1903 and was an immediate success. Her next serialized book, 'The Man in Lower Ten' was equally successful. The Saturday Evening Post also carried the comic adventures of Letitia Carberry for several years.
Mary Roberts Rinehart was a War Correspondent in WWI. She wrote romances, plays but was known mainly for her mysteries. She had a mastectomy and wrote about that which was unheard of at that time but which also helped other women experiencing the same. I found that her writing styles were varied and interesting.
The nice thing about Rinehart's book is that there are many places on the internet to download both ebooks and audio versions for free. Check out Project Gutenberg, Internet Archive and LibriVox.
I hope you find Mary Roberts Rinehart books as enjoyable as I did.
That's it for today...
Talk with you tomorrow...
