January 8, 2024

We did get snow!  I was quite skeptical that we would get anything other than rain, but as you can see from the picture, snow did arrive...about a scant foot.

And this was wet, heavy snow.  The heart-attack type of snow.  The thing is that the forecast for tomorrow is rain and warm weather...in the low 50's.

I took this picture this morning and we had already lost inches and it's melting right now.

So, how did you do with your goals for the year?  Have you set any?  Did you write down specific rather than general goals...something that you can measure and celebrate when achieved.

Last year when I wrote up my goals, I didn't really break them into achievable steps which made me less than enthusiastic about continuing.  I did continue but I realized now that with those small steps I think working towards completion of the goal will be easier.

And, this year, I have also included some smaller goals...things that can be achieved in a month or so.  As a matter of fact, I have already started on two of them.  One way that I am going to try is to spend at least an hour a day on one specific goal.  I plan to spend two hours a day on smaller goals.

My plan for the blog include continuing with a word for the month, a question for the week and a meditation about that question for the day...five days a week on most weeks.

I am going to add one additional item which you can choose to do with me or not.  In trying to continually organize I plan on doing one small, even tiny, thing each day, again for five days a week, that will help me keep on top of things.

Many blogs, magazine articles and even books recommend doing this and even give ideas like 'organize in 30 days', etc.  I plan on doing one small item each day.  What I plan on doing with each thing is to organize it more effectively as well as donate or discard any items no longer useful.

For instance, my first item is to organize one utensil drawer in the kitchen.  I will donate any duplicates (and believe me, with three kitchens included in this one kitchen, there are many) and organize it more effectively.  This would work with one drawer of clothing, or one box of crafts, etc.  You get the picture.

I don't want to spend more than a couple minutes to a maximum of 15 minutes on each item so they will be small ones.  My hope is that by the end of 2024, I will have significantly reduced items, especially duplicates and ones no longer used.  You can find this on the sidebar under 'Today Organize...'

I still want to continue to show lots of craft ideas throughout the year.  As a matter of fact, I have been crocheting a lot.  Two items are doilies which I want to use in a wall hanging and eggs for a spring tree with lots of egg type decorations.  Check out these pictures...

The crocheted and stuffed eggs are small...about 1 1/2 inches to 2 inches long.  I plan on decorating them with ribbon and beads to hang on a plain branch that has been pained white.

The college playoff game between Michigan and Washington is tonight...should be a good one.

That's it for today...
