I didn't try to put the containers together yesterday because it was too cold to enjoy try to put them together.
I did make a pretty nice supper though...chicken and gravy, roasted carrots with sweet peas added and seasoned flat, wide noodles. I also rearranged (again) my studio to accommodate more supplies and resources and I managed to open and organize one of three containers. (And here I thought I was done organizing!)
So, I am working on two 100 Day Projects - one on a collage project and one on junk journals. Let's consider journals. First of all, what is a journal? It's basically a way to make note of your day, week, month, etc. It can be about what you do, or self-reflection, or ambitions and goals, just about anything you want.
What's the difference between plain journals and junk journals? Not much other that perhaps a bit more creativity in junk journals. Junk journals, art journals, scrapbooks, glue books and altered books are ways to explore your own creativity.
Most of my junk journals are writing journals with lots of places to write reflections on prompts which I normally add. I recently made a junk art journal for myself and found that I love the way I can explore my creativity page by page from collage, to painting to stamping, etc.
Glue journals are journals where a person glues images of things. It can be on a single subject like flowers or a letter from the alphabet like 'R'. It can be anything that tickles your fancy.
An altered book is taking a book that is going to the garbage and alter it by adding things, painting, stamping, etc. And a scrapbook is generally a book with pictures about an adventure or keeping track of the years. If you want more ideas about junk journals, simply google Junk Journals.
As I said I love my art journal because I can explore everything art. I would like to suggest that you try making an art journal. You can start simply with a notebook, pencils, pens and crayons. Don't spend a lot of money, check out the inexpensive prices at Dollar Tree stores. This way you can try out something without investing a lot of money.
Here are two of my latest pages from my art journal...
The top four pictures are from one page and the above picture is from the second page. I think I will be exploring collage a lot in this journal using a variety of mixed media supplies.
An art journal can be anything you want it to be...why not give it a try. You don't have to do it everyday, only when you want. You can use anything you want and/or have around the house. It's a fantastic opportunity to explore your creativity with freedom and no judgement. What's not to like?
That's it for now...have a great day...
Talk with you tomorrow...
