It's hazy...or rather smoky.  The fires from Canada are affecting our area.  Yesterday while crossing the Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge over the Hudson, we couldn't even see the Catskill Mountains.

It got up to the high 80's yesterday.  Today it's forecast to only reach 84.  We haven't had rain which is good.  Tomorrow I want to seal Duchess.

I have another set of quilt pictures from the Gee's Bends Quilt Show...

Some folks may not appreciate these quilts but I look at them as creative expressions using only what's on hand and with no real patterns to follow.

Most quilters have what they call a 'stash' which is made up of quilt fabric in a large variety of colors, styles, patterns, etc.  So when quilts are made from a 'stash' they are neat, straight, beautifully created.

The Gee's Bends quilts are made out of a variety of non-quilt fabrics like denim, corduroy, satin, flannel.  And lots of the fabrics were cut from clothes and other fabric donations.  A very different type of stash and yet they took those fabrics and created something useful and beautiful.

We moved a lot of the containers out to Duchess yesterday.  I need to repack the remaining containers before moving them out.  That leaves only the guest bedroom to finish.

So what do you have planned for today? I'm not sure what I'm doing but I am leaning toward taking the barn quilt tour.  Something fun at least...

Talk with you tomorrow...
