Good morning! I don't normally post on Saturdays but yesterday wound up so totally crammed full that I did not have an opportunity to post...thus a rare Saturday one.

It's really warm and sunny and believe it or not, humid.  But that's because it rained last night.  We have several 50's plus days in our forecast...a bit warm for November!

I hope you are able to have a restful weekend...in time to get ready for the big Thanksgiving Celebration.  That is, if you have big plans including family and friends.

Some of you, though, may not have any special celebrations planned.   You may be celebrating (or not) by yourself at home.  It can be lonely and a bit of a downer for you.  Maybe you can still make plans to do something special.  Here are a few ideas...

...Help out at a local soup kitchen that serves those in need

...Plan a special meal for yourself...make it one that you love to eat even if it's a plain meat and potatoes kind of meal

...Make arrangements to talk with a friend or relative over the phone, or better yet, on face time or over the internet, perhaps on zoom

...If you're like me and still love to watch the Thanksgiving Parade take the time to watch it, maybe while you're making your special meal (later, of course, a football game)

...Plan a movie day and watch your favorite movies (with popcorn and cocoa, of course) and include A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving

...Work on your craft or hobby all day long

...And finally, remember all the things that you are thankful for because all of us, wherever we are in life, have things to be thankful for.

I do have another fall craft for you.  It's a fabric pumpkin.  These are not new...there are tons of different variations.  For mine, you need some pumpkin colored fabric, needle and thread, a small bit of green and brown felt or you can use fabric, stuffing, yarn and a scissors.  First, cut the pumpkin fabric in a circle...the larger the circle, the larger the pumpkin.  You decide...

Using either extra strong thread or a double strand of thread, stitch a running stitch all around the edge.  Make sure to knot one end...

To make sure the thread does not slip out knot both ends after stitching.  Close a bit and begin stuffing.  When it is somewhat full, ties both ends of the fabric together.  Leave a space to continue stuffing until it is as full as you want it...

When you have finished stuffing use yarn to wind around making segments in the pumpkin...

Finally, cut out some green 'leaves' out of felt (or green fabric).  Cut a tiny x in the center and then stitch down all around the pumpkin.  Using either a small piece of brown felt or fabric, wind it up to make a stem then push it down into the cuts that you made in the green felt/fabric and stitch to secure.  That's it, very simple but it's really very cute...

That's all for today.  Take it easy and enjoy your day...

Talk with you on Monday...
