This morning's temperature is already 50 going to a high of 60!  Really warm and not at all typical for this area.

So yesterday I did get all the work around the house done including the patio.  There is a small leak in the blow up bed so I will need to look for that today.  Not fun!!!

But the rest of the day is fairly light...make two pies, pecan and pumpkin, my jello salad, possibly some rolls and roasted vegetables for an early dinner...piece of cake compared to the last couple of days.

I thought that we could begin working on another house for our winter village.  This house is made out of a cereal box.  Open the box up, cut the top and bottom areas off as well as any areas that are not straight.  Then design something like the following pattern and cut out...

Fold on all the lines.  The bottom five areas make into a rectangle (main house) fold together overlapping one side and secure either with glue or tape. I used tape because I was in a hurry but glue generally works better.  Fold the top two areas together to make a roof.  (Sorry, I forgot to take a picture at this time.)

Cut two pieces of cardboard the width of the small sides of the house and taller than the roof. Glue a piece unto each side.  This will give the house added stability.  The cut off the top along the roof line.  In the following picture, you would cut off the yellow areas..

I added another section to the house.  On the cardboard, draw a pattern with three equal size sections in a row, shorter than the house.  In the middle section, add a piece on top the same size.  Cut out and fold to make the added section with a flat roof.  Finally, cut out a chimney pattern as shown...

Fold the sections together to make a square and secure with tape.  The cut out triangles are to fit the roof.  Then glue to the top of the house.  Here's a picture of the house...

You do not have to add the smaller section if you want to keep it simple.  But now you have the basic house...it's time to decorate it.  You can paint it, cover it with paper, draw in doors and windows, etc...however you want to finish the house.  I'll share mine on Friday.

So tomorrow is Thanksgiving.  I hope that no matter how you celebrate, either with lots of friends and family or by yourself, that you will take the time to make it special.  Enjoy making your meal.  Watch the Thanksgiving Parade or holiday movies (or football!).  Put a puzzle together.

If you're celebrating by yourself, reach out to someone via phone or internet.   Do something out of the ordinary to mark the day...spend an entire day working on a hobby/craft, read a book you've been wanting to read, binge watch a series, or take a walk.

Above all, take time tomorrow to be thankful.  And be happy, smile, laugh and love your life.

I won't be posting tomorrow but I will post on Friday.  Until then, be safe and have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
