Today is supposed to be one of the coldest days of the month but then it warms up starting tomorrow to a high in the mid 50's on Friday! Mid fifties in December?
I added a third routine to my exercises this morning...30 minutes on the cycle, 20 minutes on core & 20 minutes on strength and balance. I was wondering toward the end if I could finish all three but I did. I sincerely hope that you are doing some sort of directed movement (exercise). Check out senior exercises on YouTube...they have seated exercises, standing ones, core, balance, strength, etc. at no cost other than YouTube.
I did finish the general store for our winter village. I began with a cereal box, which I opened up, cut off about one third from the top. I reclosed the bottom (inside out) and then folded and cut down the sides to close the top the same way. From the portion left over, I cut out a top and added it to the top of the box. You can see the top piece I added from the front and from the topside...
Because the 'store' is not deep, I did add a piece of cardboard, again left over from the box, to the bottom so it doesn't tip over...
With the basic form made, I simply added paper to cover, windows and a door and trimmed with a green marker. I am going to add toys to the windows to make it more interesting...One more house, a few more trees plus maybe a gazebo or some benches and our winter village is ready to display. And it was made basically out of recycled 'stuff'! Pretty nice if I say so myself!
How way your weekend? I think my son actually finished all his shopping for Christmas. What's left? I would still like to make a few more decorations like a wreath using some of the leftover tree decorations. But mainly, this week I will be focusing on baking...especially refrigerator cookies...whose recipes I will share during the week as they are inexpensive and easy to make.
And, it may seem a bit much, but, it's also time to think about the upcoming year and what you would like to accomplish. So there will be a few nudges in that direction also.
For now, take care, get enough rest and be safe...
Talk with you tomorrow...
