It's been feeling like spring these past few days.  And the snow is basically gone except for tiny patches in wooded areas.  January Thaw is what they call it...I just wonder how long it will last.

On one of the drives this past weekend we went over three rivers and all were up significantly...one almost out of it's banks but not quite.

How fast did last week feel like it went?  Fast for me, how about you?  Does this mean that 2026 will be flying by again...I'd like a chance to slow down and catch my breath!

And you know what, crafting slowly is one of the top, if not the top, trend for this upcoming year...slow crafting, slow sewing, slowing down doing just about everything.  I think it's the result of what's going on in the world right now...almost too much to take in.

So did you get your list of 2026 intentions done?  Did you see any patterns in that list?  One of the patterns that I saw in my list was the emphasis on relationships.  Another was similar to the top trend, slowing down and appreciating the moment.

There are two ways to look at your intentions...choosing a few major ones or choosing lots of little ones that can even be assigned to particular months.  How you develop your list of intentions depends on how you like to approach things.  Do you like to look at the big picture and big intentions or do you like to take small bites that will eventually add up to big intentions?

I am leaning toward setting lots of smaller intentions throughout the months.  Maybe because I feel they are more likely to be attainable.  It's like setting up the intention of losing say 2 pounds a month rather that 25 pounds this year.  Two pounds seem doable but just thinking about 25 pounds feels like it's too much.

This week, take a look at those patterns you recognize and place them in appropriate categories.  For instance, if one of the categories you find is creativity take a look at how you would approach those intentions throughout the year.  Remember, that these are intentions meaning that you will work towards them, not goals to succeed or fail.

So, I have two more boxes with projects...both are in the 'slow' movement and will take the year...

The Fabric Book 2026 is a year long project developed by Daniela Mellen at 'Stitch With Me'.  There will be twelve prompts, one per month, to work on.  The first prompt was 'straight stitch'.  Here's what I have so far...

The second project is a hand sewn, hand quilted wall hanging.  So far I have the background fabrics chosen.  I am planning on a 'Grandma Moses' type of scene.

Be sure to take some time this week to look at your intentions and think about how to approach them.  Also, remember to schedule some 'you time' to do what you want, even if it's only taking a nap in the afternoon...

Talk with you tomorrow...
