I'm going to be able to work on SnowWhite's rust spots today and possibly even finish everything! And as I leave for the west in one week from today, that's really good news!
I managed to get fencing around the four bushes this weekend and I fed several plants in time for the rain. I wasn't able to thin out the hosta plants. I might get to that today but if not today, then tomorrow. And I need to straighten up the area around the patio.
Cookie Monster is getting better at walking on a leash. Don't get me wrong, he goes where he wants to go but at least he is more apt to walk and run that sit and stare!
I had more fun making paper/fabric strips for junk journals using both paper and fabric scraps. I began with strips of light weight cotton...
Using a glue stick, I added both paper and fabric to the strips. Once they were finished, I zigzagged the edges on the larger strips. For the thinner strips, I applied clear packing tape. Check out these pictures...
I can now use these in my journals either as they are or cutting off pieces. And they roll up easily for storing.
I went grocery shopping last Friday and what took me completely by surprise was how costly produce was...potatoes (house brand) increased by $2, a large bag of carrots (again house brand) had increased by $1.50 and onions (Vadalia) were almost a dollar an onion! My goodness at these increased costs, almost everyone will be priced out! Hopefully, farmer's markets will start soon and we can save a bit of money buying directly! Maybe it's time to bring victory gardens back...even patio gardens can save a bit of money on some produce like tomatoes and herbs!
Four days left in April...how are your intentions coming along for this month? Hopefully you have finished or almost finished them. And it's time to gear up for May's intentions if you have any.
My intention for April was to start seeds. I'm having mixed results. Some of the seeds have germinated and are growing, others are not. Not sure what I am doing wrong or if the unusual weather is affecting seeds. I hope that they will continue growing and that I have been able to save money by not purchasing starter plants. Those have also become very expensive as most are now $5, $6 and even $7 for single starter plants!
Hope the weather is nice where you live, if there are storm warnings please stay safe...
Talk with you tomorrow...
