Another flower from our yard.  Love the color!

So, it was hot and humid yesterday and today is even hotter and more humid if that's possible.

We did have some rainstorms with lots and lots of rain!  More are forecast for today.  I checked the gardens out this morning and they all look well.

The heatwave ends tomorrow and I was going to attend the last quilt guild meeting of the 2025-2026 year but, alas, not any more!  It's an official gridlock alert day in Midtown Manhattan with several streets shut down to traffic, etc.

I checked out my normal commute to the meeting place which is in lower Manhattan and the estimated additional time was two hours each way.  That's on top of my normal 2 & 1/2 hour commute each way...and I won't even be near midtown.  Four and a half hours each way is a bit too much and who says that it will only be two hours.  Some places estimate three times as long!

Today was the first time this week that I'm not working outside.  Yes, there's still lots to do but I think four days is enough for this week.  And besides, I have still not finished my studio!  And my crafting desires are becoming really strong.

I'm still extremely excited about creating my own Summer Camp.  I have found lots more information and suggestions on the internet about designing one for yourself.

So far I have decided to begin each day with a tia chi routine.  I've been watching several YouTube videos to check out the different routines.  I think I will start with a shorter routine that focuses on balance but I want to both increase the time each week and introduce a new routines.

Another activity I want to include is journal writing.  Not a long time unless moved to write more but at least ten to fifteen minutes each day on any subject I want.  I enjoyed journaling a long time ago but have since let that activity drop by the wayside.

There are plenty of nature activities that I am interested in.  First of all, identify all the trees in the area or at least in my own yard including the wooded areas.  And I would like to identify both the birds in the area and their songs.

And while I'm concentrating on nature, it only seems natural to try some nature crafts as well as gardening and trying to grow some unique herbs or vegetables or even flowers!

The possibilities are almost endless...and most will cost little if any amount so that's a plus.  I think my biggest problem is trying to do too much!  But who says Summer Camp has to end in the summer?

I truly hope that you will plan something special for yourself or your family this summer.  It doesn't have to be a complete Summer Camp, maybe just an outing a week like a picnic or a hike or visiting an attraction.  But do something to make this summer special...

Have a great day, be safe and stay cool...

Talk with you on Monday...
