My latest doodle...you know, these are very addicting!!!
I'm happy to report we had no snow...it was downright cold and wet with heavy fog and rain...but no snow other than what's on the ground. So that is progress, I guess.
On to the Landscape. (Let me apologize for the quality of the pictures right off the bat. My camera is still not functioning well.)
I attached all the pieces of the landscape using the sewing machine. For the most part, I just used a single stitch and went around the objects such as the houses and trees. For other things such as the fence, I just used a single stitch down the middle. For the purposes of demonstration, I used black thread...
You can use fabric paint and fabric markers to add details.
I would suggest that you try them out before using them on the landscape. Using the paint directly from the bottles takes a bit of practice. Also, a light fabric marker may not show up on a dark piece of fabric whereas a light fabric paint generally will.
In the top picture the apples in the trees, the windows on the houses as well as the small walkway from the black house are all done with fabric paint. The door on the pink house is done by fabric marker as are some of the fence marks.
In the bottom picture, the waves and foam on the lake as well as the grass around the fence posts are done by fabric paint.
You can also use the sewing machine to add elements such as outlining leaves and grass...just about anything you want. And if you do not want to add them by machine, you can sew by hand.
Here is the landscape so far...
I'm listening to my nature sounds right now...a thunder storm! It has been a long time since I have experienced a good old fashioned thunder storm. I remember there were many in Minnesota when I lived there. Also, in the gulf coast area. But there were relatively few in the northeast. Wonder what the mountains are going to be like this summer???
Thanks for stopping by...
