IT'S BACK and AN ACCORDION INCHIE

It's back!! What's back, you ask? Electricity!!! It went off early this afternoon but finally came back on so I am getting this post up asap just incase I lose it again.

Cold, gray and rainy today. I don't think the temperature got out of the mid 60's.

I wanted to make an accordion inchie today. So, I gathered the supplies...

...scissors, inchie punch, stick glue, permanent green marker, tissue box and bias tape (cloth).

I decided to sandwich the bias tape between two inchie pieces using stick glue and leaving a tiny gap, about 1/16th of an inch, between each section. The fabric allows the inchie to close nicely. I used the green permanent marker to finish the edges and color the bias tape.

I haven't put anything on the accordion inchie yet. I may draw some pictures to tell a story. Or, I might create a theme inchie. Check back tomorrow and see what I decide to do.

First game of the NFL season is on tonight - in case you're interested (Of course, you know that I am :).)

CRAFTING IDEAS

I always have scrap fabric around so these fabric flowers are one way to use up the scraps. Cut out five each of two size circles. For each size, fold the circles in half, wrong sides together, and with needle and with long, strong thread hand stitch around the cut edge. Add each folded circle onto the same thread. When all are on, gather as tight as possible and take several stitches to secure. You can fold the edges inward or outward. (Outward is shown.). Place the smaller gathered circle on top of the larger one and stitch to secure. Add the sequin and bead to finish. You can also hot glue the pieces together. Easy and fast.

MAGAZINE IDEAS

(New) One article in the Farmer's Almanac 2024 is a list of trends. One I knew about is the trend to downsize in just about every area. Another trend that I was surprised about was called ''The Human Library' which offers people on loan to talk about specific subjects. Finally, more folks are adding pets to their family and as a result, stores are adding more pet food, toys and medication to their offerings. There's also a nice garden article which suggests mixing vegetables and flowers together for success.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

Spring is a great time to not only review your annual goals, but to establish some new goals particular to spring. So, do you have any? There are a variety of types of goals from things to do in the yard, to specific vacation plans, to making sure to spend time with your family outside everyday, to...well, you name it. The goals or ideas are only limited to what you want to do. When you think about your spring goals be sure to have a variety including both 'want to do' and 'have to do'...from enjoying a picnic to mowing the lawn.
