Looks like fall is in full swing and winter is fast approaching. Most of the greens around the yard have turned to brown and fallen off...
Well, where do I begin today...twenty days left and of those I will be gone four of them. Remember me and the Macy's Day Parade? I'll be there and I promise pictures...if I can get close enough and the balloons are flying high.
So, I guess the first thing is to see how I did with last week's goals...
- Sort and pack tools - set for car, set for trailer and set for home - done
- Finish sorting and packing everything in the big bedroom - done
- Pack everyday dishes - All but the enormously large four plates - will put them in a bag. (Note: these are going to one of my sons.)
- Sort and pack common room upstairs - done
- Lose one pound - lost two
- Continue taking stuff to Goodwill - took two loads last week
- Continue working in trailer - straightened out main area
- Continue bringing down picture albums - done, now I need to continue to remove the pictures
- Sew one quilt top - sewed two (I realized that I needed two more quilt throws!)
- Finish last village house - house crocheted, just needs some decorating
My problem is that even though the rooms are packed, they are still messy. It's driving me crazy. I walk into a room and it looks like there is lots to do, but in reality, not so much. Take a look at the pictures around my living room...
Now, I realize that I still have to pack my lamps and put my lampshades in plastic bags. I guess it's the little things like that that are pulling my chain. Then I begin to wonder if I will make it.
Oh, and today was laundry day. Someone asked where I hang clothes when I can't hang outside? Here...
So the extra quilt throw came into focus when I realized that I needed quilts for two young boys and none of the other quilts would quite work. So, here are the quilt tops...
I hope to back one or both tonight while I watch the football game. Oh, and my team tied this weekend...with a rival...at their stadium!
And I finally got around to blocking the winter scarf I made as a gift. This person loves orange as much as I do. The scarf is doubled, so it is quite long. Great for winter walks...
And I have to say that blocking does make a difference. I put this in warm water with a drop of Dawn and then gentle massaged it. Then I put it through my spin-dry machine. Doing that evened out the stitches beautifully.
Well, there's more I want to share with you today about comparisons but I will wait until tomorrow. This week's list is short:
-Finish all the presents for two families including wrapping so I can bring them with me
-Finish packing all the things I am taking to these two families (The car will be packed!)
-Laundry (So I have clean clothes for the trip!)
-Straighten up the house before I leave (So getting back to work when I get back won't be too hard! Yah, right.)
-Fill the car with stuff for Goodwill (There are several boxes already to go!)
That should be enough for this week...
Thanksgiving is this week...how's your thankful for list coming along.
Thanks for dropping in...
See you tomorrow...
