Well, I didn't realize that they were calling for another freeze, so I didn't have the heat up very high in the trailer. Can you guess what happened? Right on...the water wasn't there. It was frozen somewhere in the line.
Up went the heat and within an hour and a half, I did have water but that really didn't leave much time to go to Gulf Shores. So my friend and I went to several places here in Mobile. I only have a few pictures right now, but I will be posting more this coming week.
Breakfast was here...
...two doughnuts and coffee. And see the round part of the sign under the name. Well, it was light up in red when we arrived which means 'fresh doughnuts being made right now'. Now, if you have never had a Krispy Kreme Doughnut, especially one right out of the oven, you have no idea what you are missing. Yes, pure sugar but also pure heaven.
After visiting several departments and museums on the South Alabama campus, we went out to lunch here...
...the oldest restaurant in Mobile. The Dew Drop is famous for it's hot dogs, but their oyster loaf sandwiches are out of this world...After sightseeing around downtown Mobile, we went to a meet and greet with Craig Johnson, author of the Walt Longmire series...
Let me tell you, this man was funny and engaging to listen to. His Walt Longmire series about a sheriff in Wyoming has been made into a series on A & E. They previewed one of the shows prior to his talk.
I had never heard of the author nor the books before, but I was so impressed that I purchased the first in the series and can't wait to read it.
So, that was my day...
Hope yours was as much fun as mine...
Thanks for dropping in...
See you tomorrow...
Oh, my goodness, it will already be Friday!!!
Where does the time go?
