25 Days of Christmas Crafts - Day Four - Paper Chain Garland

Well, it looks like the post for yesterday went through this morning.  Let's hope I don't have any more problems uploading pictures.

I have almost finished the decorations except the Christmas Tree!  The house is in a big mess.  We decided to rearrange the pantry with all the dishes.  Add that to the decorations in various stages and things are pretty much in disarray.

So I decided to do easier crafts for the weekends
in case parents may want to do them with children.
And today's craft is very easy...Paper Chain Garland...

Supplies needed for the basic chain are paper, scissors and tape...

You can get a lot of strips out of a single sheet of paper.  First cut it in half width wise by folding the top of the tall side to the bottom and cutting in half.  Then cut strips out of each of the pieces.  You can measure it but eyeballing is fast and just as nice...

To make the chain simple tape one strip into a circle.
Then put the next strip through the circle and tape it into a circle.
Continue until all the strips are gone.

One way to make the chain more decorative is to use
craft scissors with different edges to cut the strips.

If you have a printer, you can print strips with different messages.
You can even make one circle for each day in Advent.

You can add different messages on each strip.
For instance, what you are thankful for...
Or things you want to do during the holidays...

Although paper chains are simple, there are lots of ways to use them from a garland on the Christmas Tree to decorating a window or even a picture.

Enjoy...
Talk with you tomorrow...
