I have been practicing my crocheting by trying out new patterns using four-ply yarn. I was looking for a pattern that would lend itself nicely to being a coaster. The bottom right pattern on the right hand side picture is one I like. It is more solid but still decorative.
The high today is supposed to be in the high 40's. Hope it reaches that because there is a lot of ice from melting snow that freezes at night. And tomorrow is forecast to be even higher.
One of the very significant factors right now that may affect your joy is the pandemic and all that it has brought about from isolation to virtual school, etc. For many folks, the isolation brought with it severe depression. Other folks, especially those who were online, were able to continue through zoom and other platforms talking with friends and family. How has/is it affected you?
If you can, a simple walk outside goes a long way to decrease that depressive feeling. If possible and employing all the safety requirements, meeting in-person with others is another way to increase your joy filled moments. At the very least, acknowledgement that this pandemic has affected all of us will help you understand your reactions.
Today, consider how this pandemic has affected you. Have there been joy filled moments along with the stress filled ones? Figure out how can you find ways to increase the joy filled moments and reduce the stress filled ones...even minor ways...and try them.
Don't underestimate how the ability to do something you enjoy, even during the pandemic, will affect you. If you're a reader...read. If you're a quilter...quilt. If you're a crafter...craft. Spending time doing what you enjoy will definitely counteract the feelings that the pandemic has engendered.
