May 18: A Little of This, A Little of That along with a Dash of Crafting

Brice Canyon
I have visited Brice Canyon twice and been amazed both times.  It is beautiful in the summer and in the winter.  If you ever find yourself close to Brice, be sure to stop by and visit.

I think summer has arrived.  It has been very warm.  We haven't hit the 90's yet but we have come close...and, of course, rain.  We had thunder storms this evening...hot and humid.

Today, we're going to take a look at making pages for our journal.  You can use anything to make the pages from regular bond to card stock, to magazine covers, to paper bags...

As I suggested, four pages make a signature.  The largest size paper I am using is 9 inches (folded in half) by 6 1/2 inches but the sizes vary.  I do like to keep them at least 9 inches folded in half but I have varied the 6 1/2 inches.  I have enough pages for three signatures...

If the paper is old, you may want to put a piece of tape down the center of the fold...

If you are using something that will stick through the paper like a brad.  Be sure to finish that page first so the you can hide the brad on the other side. The star is actually a brad...

Here are some pages from my first signature.  Two pages are shown at a time.  Notice the paper that pulls up with a place to write under it...

And the back side...

There are two pockets with tags...

Notice the lace on this one and two places to write...

And on the back there are who more places to write...

And the next page...

Notice there are two flip up pages on this page...

And the second side...

And this has a fold out with two tags...

And the final page...

And it has a tag that opens up...

And the other side...

With a slip in tag...

So how did you do with your pages?  I hope you are enjoying making them.  Remember this is a journal for you use so create it the way you want.

Talk to you tomorrow...
