What a hurricane Ian has become...two miles short of a Cat5.  Having been in a really large, strong hurricane myself, let me tell you, two miles doesn't make that much difference.

It is also a slow moving storm so Florida is going to get a lot of rain water.  The pictures already look bad.

The weather outside here is beautiful...sunny, light breeze...light jacket weather.  My favorite type.

No closing date for the house as yet...they keep promising next week...next week.  Well, I have rescheduled my pods pick up several times.  Maybe this last time (I rescheduled them for the first Friday in October.) will be the last time.  Fingers crossed, but not very hopeful.

Today's focus is DIY pampering.  Have you ever made an oatmeal scrub for yourself?  There are a vast variety of recipes online to try.  If you are new to using the scrub, the best way to begin is to apply and then rinse off without scrubbing until your face and neck are comfortable and used to scrubbing.

The major ingredients is oatmeal.  No matter what size your oats are you need to pulse them in a food processor or blender so it looks more like a course flour.

The recipes are as simple as using only two ingredients:  oatmeal and water.  Once you have the oats ground to a flour consistency, you simply add enough water to make a paste and apply that.

If you make the simple recipe, gently apply the paste on your face and neck and wash off.  (Scrub only when your skin is used to the paste.)

Some recipes will also add a tablespoon or plain yogurt, or a small drizzle of honey.

Other recipes add a tablespoon of brown sugar, a teaspoon of oil (coconut or olive) and others even add a couple teaspoons of regular milk and/or an egg white.

When the recipes call for more than oats and water, you can leave the paste on you face for a few minutes before rinsing.

Also, the scrub can be used for other parts of your body like your arms and legs.

Making your own scrub is inexpensive and easy so take a look at the recipes online and see which one(s) you would like to try...then try it(them).

Best wishes for folks who are in the path of Hurricane Ian.

Talk with you tomorrow...
