I was disappointed that the Lions did not win but it was great that they got this far.
Remember these tiny crocheted baskets...
This is what they look like now with a small felted egg and floral stems...
I will be making more of them to hang on the white branch. And speaking of white branches, with the amount of rain we have had and that it is again forecast in the future, I decided to purchase a 'branch'. Basically, it is a wire wrapped in white that I will be able to bend into a desired branch like shape. Not what I really wanted but the best alternative.
The felted eggs are really small. The coin is a nickel...
There are many ways to felt but to make this 'egg' I used the felting tool and white roving to make the base and then blue roving on top to add color. Here are the tools/supplies needed...
The roving is on the left and the tools are on the right. The needles have sharp points along with notches that catch as you push them into the roving. After many pushes, the roving gathers together and you can create shapes as the round ball or the egg. The needle points are very sharp so caution is advised...
The single needle is used to create designs. The multiple needle tool helps to gather the roving together faster.
This type of felting is fun and you can make all sorts of things. If it interests you, give it a try. The supples and tools are not expensive.
I began taking down the Christmas decorations last Friday and will continue today. I should have them all down and packed away by the end of the week. Next up...the spring decorations. And not a minute too soon as Carnival is already going on and Easter is in March this year!
So if you decorate for the winter holidays, are your decorations still up or did you take them down right away. I still enjoy the tree with all it lights. That will be missed. I am thinking that maybe I should add some miniature lights to the white 'branch'.
Well, that's it for today...
Talk with you tomorrow...
