I did get a couple cucumber and summer squash plants but I had to go to three different places to find them. Guess everyone decided to purchase them last weekend. I also picked up more marigolds to plant around the vegetables.
Since I was close by, I stopped at Goodwill, not to drop off items but to pick some up. Mainly, men's shirts to make over for the summer. They just don't make these type of shirts for women and I like cotton, nicely fit shirts to wear with jeans. When I finish them, I share some pictures.
The vermiculite is scheduled to arrive today and if it does, I will add it to the garden containers between rain showers. Then all I need to do is pick up the vegetables I want to plant. Tomatoes, peppers, herbs, carrots, etc.
Between working outside and running a couple errands, my plan is to work on one of my fabric projects. I would like (need) to finish this one before I leave for the west because this project is for a friend who lives out west. Not sure if she reads my blog, but in case she does, I'm not going to elaborate here.
In the meantime, I worked on another junk journal. Here are a few pages from the current junk journal...
I know it sounds a bit weird, but I really enjoy working with paper...cut and paste...I just wish I had places to send some of the junk journals I make. I am sending one to a friend today, but I have more I could give away.
So what do you enjoy doing? I hope you follow your desires even if it seems silly. Life's too short to not do your own thing. And in the end, the only person you need to worry about is yourself, not some fleeting whim of society.
A lot of folks I know feel uncomfortable not following the whims of culture and society. They wear clothes that cost too much and aren't comfortable just because that what's society thinks is best. And they don't do things they would like to do just because society frowns on those things. Talk about sad. No one ever said on their death bed 'I wish I had followed more of society's whims'! So go and do your own thing and enjoy doing it.
That's it for today...
Talk with you tomorrow...
