Biloxi...

Today was a beautiful day...cool, but no rain!!!   On the way to Biloxi,  I had two adventures:   Finding a geocache and visiting the Mississippi Sandhill Crane National Wildlife Refuge.   I'll share these tomorrow.

Biloxi is a unique city.   It has been destroyed by hurricanes and rebuilt many times.   When someone went to 'The Boats' in Biloxi, they went to gamble.   At one time, the gambling had to take place on the water but after one of the last devastating hurricanes, they were allowed to be on land.   This is only one of the many casinos...

One of the best places to eat is at Mary Mahoney's.   I went there close to forty-five years ago (Wow!   That's a long time.)  And I have to say that the food is still fantastic...

At the restaurant there is an old live oak tree called 'Patriarch' that is estimated to be 2000 years old!

A sampling of the food...

Fine dining indeed...  Also, there are several small shops around the restaurant to explore.

A drive down the highway next to the water...

...reveals sculptures made from dead trees.   Very unique...

The sun was mostly down which is why some of the pictures are not of the best quality.

My favorite sculpture was this one...
A beautiful silhouette...

There are many, many more places to visit in Biloxi.   If you're in the area, be sure to take some time to look around.

And lastly, another new doodle..

Thanks for stopping by today...
See you tomorrow...
