Crocheted Basket and Postcard Art Finished

Cold and snow has returned...I wonder if warm and sunny will make a comeback any time soon?  At any rate, I hope you had a great weekend.   I managed to finish a few projects.

First of all, while watching the March Madness games, I crocheted a little basket...

I plan on lining the basket with fabric and using it for the few pieces of jewelry that I wear .   I was thinking about making a top but decided against it.

I also finished my postcard art project.   Remember that I did not like the fabric fraying?   So I used iron on adhesive on the fabric first...

I then cut out all the pieces and ironed them on a piece of canvas.   Next I adhered the canvas to a thin piece of cardboard (think cereal boxes).   On the other side of the cardboard I added a postcard form which I designed and printed.

Finally, I decided to try the iron on vinyl top to the front of the postcard.   It's kind of like using clear contact except it's laminated using heat via an iron.   Unique!   I tried it on a couple of other pieces first to see how it works.   I like the end results.

To finish the postcards, I added some adhesive metal edging.   To soften the corners, I applied some clear fingernail polish.   So this is the result...

I used the same idea to make this little card for a friend...

I got the poem from a free site on the internet and for the life of me can't find the notation.   At any rate, it's not mine.

Well, that's enough for this evening...
Thanks for stopping in...
See you tomorrow...
