I love this little fellow. He's been bleached by the sun, but the sign is still very readable...
...and you know what? No matter what life throws at you, Joy with the best way to respond...even if it takes a few days for that feeling to set it. Because, really, each day is a gift. EnJOY it fully.
Do you ever take on too much? Sometimes I think I do, but I like swaps because they keep me engaged in creative ventures.
For instance, the last tag swap (and I have never really entered tag swaps before) theme was Steampunk Lace. I have worked with lace a lot, but Steampunk? No! I had to look up the definition first and then take time to look at several images to really understand what Steampunk was all about.
Did it turn out to be a favorite theme...probably not, but I did enjoy the entire process from discovery to application. Would I have done it without the swap? Definitely not! Will I employ any of the ideas in the future? Absolutely. That's why I enter swaps...to try out new things.
At any rate, I finished up two swaps, both in the mail, only three more to go but their deadlines are a couple weeks from now. So, today I worked on my fabric challenge and outlined the houses with black thread. I really like the effect...
Next, I plan on outlining the sky and water in blue, the grass in green, the dirt/sand in brown and the sun in yellow or maybe orange.
I know I have shared this tip before, but I like to put a piece of tape rolled into a circle with the sticky side out on my sewing machine. Then I can put all those pesky little pieces of thread on the tape instead of all over the place. Also, if the fabric or thread has any static electricity, it's easy to just place it on the tape.
See you tomorrow...
