Keeping in Touch and Child's Play

Remember the beautiful clear blue sky in the photo of the mountains from yesterday?   Well, it's a gray, cloudy, threatening sky now with promise of snow!!!

Today was my day to talk with friends across the country.   Question:   How do you stay in touch with your friends?  I have three close friend scattered from the east coast, to the midwest and down on the Gulf Coast.   And I have a set time each week to talk them separately.

We may discuss a book we are reading,  or we may discuss current affairs.   Sometimes we share our show and tell projects like quilting or pottery.  Or we share names of authors, books, youtube lectures, etc.   Just about anything goes.

We use either Facetime or Skype...and the thing is, because we can see each other as we are talking, it's like we are sitting down sharing our lives over a cup of tea or coffee.   I highly recommend it to all of you, especially if your friends are hither and yon.   It's the absolute best way to keep in touch...well, other than being with each in person, that is.

So today was child's play time...my granddaughter and I painted.   Her pictures are scattered somewhere in her bedroom.   Mine are studies in strokes and marks...

Not great masterpieces by any stretch of the imagination...but kind of unique...don't you think?

I also began stitching the sky portion of my challenge quilt scene...
I think I am going to like this scene when it's finished...

The clouds and snow have completely obliterated the mountains now, but the snow has stopped.   Weather....sure is a strange creature this year!

Thanks for visiting...
See you tomorrow...
