Taking the Long View and March Goals

This might seem like a contradiction from yesterday's talk about texture, but it really isn't.   When you look at pictures like these, you are taking the long view of everything...

Notice, I said long view, not casual view.   There is a difference.  A casual viewer just looks but rarely takes in what he/she sees.   Whereas, the long viewer or those zeroing in on particular things like textures are taking in the picture in front of you.

This time in traveling through the south and southwest, I chose not to take any pictures.   I did that because, first of all, I wanted to make time; but second, I wanted to take in the whole scene in front of me rather than focusing on a particular area.

Because of this, I was able to appreciate/understand things that I missed prior.   For instance, the poverty in some of the southern states, or the fact that there are lots and lots of white plastic bags in the open areas of the southwest or even that fact that I was always able to see a man-made structure even on the wide open areas of Texas (and I do not mean roads, signs, telephone poles or cars!)

I guess to sum it up, you need to be open to viewing what's in front of you.   When you do that, you generally see a lot of things that you would have missed.

My Goals for March:
1  Lose five pounds
2  Clean up and update my computer (It's needed this for a long, long, long time)
3  Become familiar with Roku and Apple TV
4  Create two tutorials for DIY projects
5  Decide how to fix water heater in trailer
6  Plan blogs for the rest of March
7  Continue reading books I have begun
8  Continue writing book
9  Set up system for photos
10  Research blog info

That's about it for now, folks...
Thanks for dropping by...
See you tomorrow...
