Well, I baked some more bread...two loaves of cranberry orange cheddar bread. And they turned out beautifully. I also made four more different batches of cookies as well as two loaves of refrigerator fruitcake.
I couldn't find my recipe for refrigerator fruitcake, so after looking at about a zillion different recipes, I decided to wing it. I used melted butter and sweetened condensed evaporated milk along with the normal things like graham crackers (crushed), maraschino cherries, dates, raisons, nuts, marshmallows and seasonings. Let me tell you, it tasted pretty good!
I also went shopping today to get things for the dinner this weekend. Still not sure if it will be on Sunday or Monday...I'm hoping for Sunday, tho.
Tomorrow, more baking...fruitcake cupcakes (the baked kind), cranberry pudding, rice pudding and fudge. I might also try a date roll...something I remember one of my aunts always making for Christmas. The other aunt always made homemade caramels which were out of this world. I have tried to make them but they never tasted like my aunts. Aw, the things one remembers from so long ago. At any rate, that should finish up all the baking and candy prep.
Then I need to finish wrapping the presents and that's it...
