I baked my fruitcake cupcakes today. It took a while because I first had to find the recipe. (All my cookbooks are still packed.). Once I remembered that it was an old Betty Crocker recipe, I found it quickly...but it took quite a while for this old brain to remember Betty Crocker!
I also made my depression icebox caramel cookies. The cupcake and the caramel cookie along with the Wedding Tea Cake cookies are the favorites around here.
So tomorrow along with the rice pudding, cranberry pudding and jello salad, I think I will spruce up the house a bit. We are having family over on Saturday and Sunday but again, low key. A ham dinner with all the trimmings on Saturday and seafood on Sunday with all the trimmings.
The good thing is that after fixing tomorrow things, and putting on split green pea soup tomorrow night, my work in the kitchen is done. The rest is up to my chef son!
I can relax and watch football!!!
