The forecast is for snow/rain throughout the night as it gets warmer. Not hot, but in the high 30's and low 40's.
So, yesterday, the tests at the doctor took a lot longer than the two hours first suggested. By the time I got home, I simply rested and slept the rest of the day away.
As I told you before, I had fun playing with paper this past weekend. Because all three experiments were messy, I took a large lawn trash bag and cut it open to cover my table. I suggest you do the same.
The first experiment was coffee dyed paper. For this I needed a small container with very hot water, cheap instant coffee, a rag (or something to apply the coffee solution to the paper like a sponge or even a brush) and regular white copy paper (8 1/2 by 11).I kept the coffee soaked rag somewhat rung out and then applied it several ways: Wiping it on, dabbing it on, scrunching it on. I also added some of the instant coffee crystals directly on the rag to get a darker stain. I also sprinkled some coffee crystals directly onto the paper and rubbed them in.
The papers when wet are very dark. However, as the paper dries, the coffee stain will become lighter. The paper also gets a crinkly effect and a scratchy sound when working with it.The page is much different after dyeing than before. One of the ways I used the coffee dye was on the back of digitally printed paper. (Check out ETSY for tons of different patterns to download at extremely cheap prices.)
