It's bright and sunny again today and the highs are in the mid 50's, same tomorrow and Saturday. The snow is melting rapidly and will probably be completely gone by the end of the weekend.
Even with the sun shining I am still having a hard time adjusting to daylight savings time. I really wish we would just pick one time and go with it permanently. Experts say that it takes about a week to fully adjust to the new time. I don't know who the experts are talking with because everyone I know says it takes several weeks. How are you doing with the adjustment? If you are having problems, here's a list of things to help...
1. If you didn't start before DST, begin going to bed 15 minute earlier each night until the bedtime feels right for you.
2. Do not take long naps during the day when you feel tired. (I will certainly take a short one if needed but try not to take a long one.)
3. Adjust your daily routine to fit. For instance, if you ate supper at 6 during standard time, eat it at 6 in daylight savings time. Same with going to bed, getting up, etc.
4. Use the morning sunlight to help adjust your body's clock either by staying near a window or going outside.
5. Avoid caffeine in the late afternoon or evening.
6. Be aware that activities that take concentration including driving a car will need extra attention this first week to month after a time change.
7. Do not be upset with yourself if you feel tired and less able to do things effortlessly. The time change messes with your internal clock and it takes time for your body to adjust that clock. Go with the flow realizing that things will eventually go back to normal...just an hour earlier!
Well, that's about it for today...
