Well, the lawn did get mowed yesterday and it looks great. There were times when I heard the mower having a hard time cutting some of the longer grassy areas.
I managed to switch out the shelves. It took a while to put together the shelf that goes in my studio mainly because I wasn't paying attention to the differences in the parts, but it got done. It fits beautifully and I have more room.
The shelf that was in my studio is now in the living room and it also fit without any problems. I can now unpack the books and put them in the living room shelves.
And I managed to clean up my version of the Fibber McGee Closet in the hallway by using half of another shelf. The final shelf will be going up in the kitchen as I plan on unpacking a lot more of the kitchen things!
I don't know about you but I use a lot of free open source software for my computer. For instance, I have only used Apache Open Office for all my writing, editing and even drawing needs and have never had a problem with it. It is still available and occasionally upgraded from Apache even though it is not worked on as it used to be.
And instead of Photoshop, I use the open source free software GIMP. I had used GIMP on my old computer but hadn't downloaded it to my latest computer. So yesterday I downloaded it and boy, it has changed for the better. I am going to have to relearn some things.
The reason I wanted to use GIMP is because I want to create some of my own scrapbooking journal pages using my own photos. When I manage to create some nice ones, I'll post them here so you can see and use them.
Any plans for the weekend? I have no definite plans but I hope to get the patio finished except for the plants. They are going to trim a lot of the bushes around the house before they scrape and paint it. Because of that I won't be planting any flowers in the bed next to the patio but I do want to have several potted plants sitting around.
What ever you do this weekend, plan some time for yourself to relax and enjoy doing something you want to do!
