April 25, 2023. Summer Clothing List

Another bright and sunny morning.  It's not going to be too warm today, only in the mid 50's but that's fine with me.

I saw the garbage/recycle folks took all the cardboard boxes away.  I finally took all the boxes that I knew I would not use, broke them down, checked to make sure there was no styrofoam, etc. and put them out in four giant boxes.

After visiting some clothing stores and looking at internet sites, I realize that I do not like the fashion for women right now.  I don't like the type of fabric, the prints nor the style.

But I think I have figured out what I want to wear for the wedding.  I am going out to find what I want today...beginning at Goodwill!

And thinking about what to wear has forced me to take a good look at my clothes.  There are blogs on line that advocate cutting down on the number of clothing items and I think that's what I want to do.  I don't have a lot of clothes, but I realize that I only wear about a third of what's in my closet.

I am retired so I don't need to have as many outfits as I had when I worked, but I think that I would still rather have fewer items but ones that fit nicely and that I feel good wearing.  So this is my list for spring/summer:

three pairs of jeans
three pairs of regular pants
two pairs of shorts
five t-shirts
two sweatshirts
five shirts, short sleeve
two shirts, long sleeve
one lightweight suit jacket
two lightweight outdoor jackets for cool weather
two pairs walking sneakers
one pair black sneakers/mocs

If you noticed, I did not include any dresses nor skirts.  I don't own any.  And the only shoes I now wear are sneakers or mocs.  No more three inch heels (Can't believe that I even wore those, but I did!)

Of course, I have not added my undergarments nor my nightwear but I don't have a lot of those either.

So how's your clothing doing?  How much of what you own do you actually wear?  How many items do you feel good in?  How many fit?  How many need mending?  Maybe it's time to take a good look at what you are wearing now and maybe begin thinking ahead about your fall/winter list.

A new meditation is posted...
