It was a popular tradition for children and sweethearts to observe through the 19th and 20th centuries.
I remember making paper cones to hang them on doorknobs of my friends after filling them full of spring flowers from the garden!
Other traditions include making wreaths or crowns out of wild flowers and greens, planting the spring flowers in the garden, changing the colors in homes to bright and cheery ones! And who could forget the May Pole Dance?
The beginning of each month is a good time to check on how you are doing with your goals. My goal areas were: Weight, Finances, Organization, Exercise and Etsy.
I am doing okay with my weight. I am losing but slower than I would like. My finances are doing as expected. I am doing very well in organization. Etsy...I haven't really done anything here. I have to decide to either do it or not. That will be a decision I make this month.
And I am also doing well with exercise. I increased my weights to 10 pounds this weekend for most of my routines which is great. I increased my bike to 2 miles and I introduced a walking exercise to my daily routines.
So how are you doing with your goals? Do they need tweaking, as my did? Or do you need to eliminate some (which I may do) or add some? Take a few minutes today to review where you're at with your goals.
There's a new Word for the Month, Question for the Week and Meditation for the Day posted. Remember, if you read this blog on your smart phone or through a blog feed, you need to switch to Web Version to see the sidebar questions and meditations.
Enjoy your day...
Talk with you tomorrow...
