September 20, 2023 Crocheted Pumpkins

The sun is shining brightly but the front yard is still mushy and the patio has not dried out either.  So no coffee outside.  Actually, it was in the high 40's this morning.  A first for this fall around here.

I still have some herbs outside on the patio but I did bring in my house plants.  Three of the four are in excellent shape but the fourth, a fern, is in bad shape.  No matter what I do, I manage to kill any fern house plant.

Yesterday I made a great beef stew with potatoes, carrots and peas.  Turned out delicious...

To go along with the stew I baked some cornbread...actually Johnny Cake, because it was a sweet cornbread.  And again, it turned out great...

I did not begin a new journal yesterday but I did manage to crochet some pumpkins.  The pattern was free online.  There are so many free patterns online that you can pick and choose according to the size, difficulty, and type of yarn you want to use.  Here are mine...

All you need is some yarn in various colors (orange for the pumpkin, brown for the stem and green for the leaves), crochet hook, scissors and stuffing.

These pumpkins are not very large between four and five inches in diameter depending on how much they are stuffed.  I was able to completely finish one in a couple hours.

That's it for today...

Talk with you tomorrow...
