So how did things go for you? Busy? Happy? Sad? Rested? Contented? Overwhelmed?
Well, what ever you did feel, it's over and we can look forward to a new year with new goals and new possibilities.
Do you make New Year's Resolutions? The definition of resolutions is the 'firm decision to do or not to do something'. I think resolutions have fallen out of favor BUT goals for the month or the year are something that many folks pursue. Setting goals is a way to improve your life, attain something you want or make sure that you do not totally waste the one and only precious thing you truly own - your time.
Have you made any goals yet? Goals can be set anytime but the beginning of something like the new year is a good place to start. So why not set one or two goals.
How to decide the goals you want to work toward? The best way is to take some time and think about it. Write down the goals that come to mind no matter if they are little ones or big ones. Is there something you want to accomplish like getting or finishing your education, or purchasing a house, or getting out of debt, or improving your health, etc. Lots to choose from...
As you look at your list, which ones really seem to stand out from the rest. These may be the ones you should focus on. Either they are important or they are something you want to do.
So, during the day take some time to think about possible goals writing them down. Don't limit the amount, write down the goals as they surface. Don't worry, I am not suggesting that you set out to accomplish all of them. This is a way to make sure that you explore all the possible goals you want to consider.
We will continue to explore setting goals for the rest of the week. You will see that goal setting is not overwhelming or scary. It's just a way to help you achieve those things that you want.
Talk with you tomorrow...
