Delicate Arch which is 52 feet tall is found in 'Arches National Park' near Moab, Utah. And for those of you back east who think of parks as small places to walk around and have picnics, Arches National Park is large (120 square miles) with 2,000 natural arches and miles of roads to drive around. There are so many unique formations that one day does not do it justice...Three Wise Men and Balanced Rock to name just two.
I did climb up to this arch several years ago and it's not really hard. There was only one short one-person wide ledge to walk around with a fairly steep drop to the valley that can be a bit scary. But the view is really worth the climb.
So I have been resizing photos of the house after the fire (there are a ton) so I can send them to the insurance adjusters. I have also put together an extremely long list of paper, drawing and fabric craft items from my studio. If you are an artist either fabric or paper, or even a crafter, you know how much 'stuff' you have crammed in your work area!
Things are at a standstill until the insurance adjusters allow us to work in the house...and as renters, we need to move everything out first before the owner's insurance can start repairs. Time frame to finish everything is from 45 to 120 days. At this point, I think 120 days is more likely.
This is the first time I have traveled out west without lots of craft items and all my meds...but this time I only took five weeks of meds, my colored pencils and drawing pad, the small weaving loom I made a few weeks ago along with embroidery floss to use with the loom and my crochet hooks. That's it. No fabric nor paper projects!
I have picked up some sewing things (needle, thread, scissors) plus a few fat quarters so I can at least work on some small fabric art pictures as I know I will be out here for a lot longer than expected! I'm sure that later on I will pick up some paper items to work with also.
Temperatures are warm...in the 90's...but not as hot as it is in the southern states.
I got back on an exercise schedule yesterday and am substituting walking in place of the exercise bike. Walking is not the easiest for me, but I was able to easily walk for around 25 minutes. My aim is to double that this summer.
That's it for today...talk with you later...
