November 1st...did you have lots of visitors last night?  Well, after making sure we had enough candy ($40 worth) we had NO trick or treaters!  Talk about surprise.  We had expected to see lots of little ones and yet no one showed up!  Oh well, live and learn.

Yesterday was another hot day, another almost 80 degree day.  Today the high is forecast to be in the mid 70's.  I had to check the calendar to make sure that it really is November.  And although there are some days with mid fifty degrees high forecast, there are more days with mid seventies high.  Global warming has really screwed up the weather.

I did watch several YouTube videos on making journals.  One particular video that caught my attention was by Natasa at Treasure Books.  (She's fun, interesting and always has great ideas...check her out at Treasure Books!). This video used a folded wallet in journals.

I have made paper folded wallets many times but never thought about using them for journals but when you think about it, there are ten places to tuck in things.  All it took was to look at how to use the folded wallet in a different way!

If you've never made a folded paper wallet (It's really easy.) check out YouTube.  There are several videos.  Once you make one, you can see how it would lend itself to being used in journal making.

I'm good at looking at common, everyday things and thinking how they can be used in several different ways, like an empty tin can as a pen holder or an ordinary small cardboard box, decorated and used as a container for just about anything.

But to be honest, I never though about using folded paper as anything but what they were supposed to be.  I used to do a lot of paper folding with my grandchildren...now I have to revisit those projects to see how else they could be useful for.

How about you?  Do you look at things, especially things designated for the garbage, and imagine how they could be turned into useful items?  If not, try it.  You may be surprised at all the ideas that pop up.

Voting day is next week.  I hope all of you have registered and are making plans to vote.

Enjoy your weekend...

Talk with you on Monday...
