It's December 18 and yesterday it was so warm (I believe it hit 60 here!) that I sat outside in the sunlight enjoying my coffee and the warm weather.

What's wrong with that scene?  Well, how about the fact that this is the northeastern part of the United States in winter!  It should not be that warm.

The temperature is lower today but still much too hot for this time of year.

For some reason the Chimney Sweeper did not show.  I hope we can reschedule.  But if not, there are several Chimney Sweepers in the area.  Today, among other things I have an eye doctor appointment early afternoon.  I also want to stop in and pick up the few remaining items I need for baking.

Last night's supper was a hit.  The corn pudding was especially good.  The scalloped potatoes were a bit more juicy than I like but the flavor was great.  And the meatloaf, well, I love all types of meatloaf and this one was just wonderful.

I worked more on the first prototype of Snowman in the Forest...

I added a snowy ground and a snowman.  It's not done but it's getting there.

I actually started on a new prototype also.  This one is just a bit bigger and the trees have 'snow'.  Again, neither is not done but I am enjoying playing with them.  Here's the second one...

There are things I like about each one.  For instance, I like the round snowman rather than the other one.  I like the snow on the trees but not as much.  And the sky in the second prototype is too big unless I add a few more larger trees.  Both are a work in process using nothing but scraps.  The bases are made of cardboard from boxes I cut apart.  The snow is small pieces of batting which would normally go into the round file, etc.

I finished getting something done for January's blog.  Kind of a 'Getting It Together' idea which I think folks will enjoy.  I'm still working on the goals and/or resolutions for the new year.  What I am thinking about is a far different idea than previous goals and ones which I know I like and I'm sure you will also.

I finished everything on my to-do list with one exception...finish wrapping presents.  What remains won't take long.  That leaves holiday baking which I will begin tomorrow and finish up next week.  I used to bake a lot when all the children were home, but with fewer folks, my baking is down to only seven different items and with the exception of one, only single batches.  A good thing for the finances as well as time involved.

I hope things are going well for you and preparations are well in hand for those of you who celebrate...

That's it for today...talk with you tomorrow...
