Today, it's partly cloudy, no rain and the temperatures are in the mid thirties! Way, way to extreme a change to be comfortable!
Dinner was great last night. I slow cooked an inexpensive beef roast with vegetables to the point where the roast simply fell apart. About six hours in a 300 degree oven. There's enough left overs for three meals! I also continued to decorate the tree. Still not done but getting closer!
Yesterday, I posted a picture of a short magazine tree. Well, I made another one with a much taller magazine with thicker pages. I only needed one magazine to make this tree. Check this out...
It's almost twice as tall as the first one! And a lot studier! So, what to do with these magazine trees? Last night I played around with the smaller one covering it first with some scrap white fabric (I think it was an old sheet), and some tulle leftover from a quilt project (Happy Villages).
To keep the tulle in place, I cut strips of batting although you could use felt, trim or other fabric, and tacked it onto the tree to hold the tulle in place. I also added a circle of batting to the bottom of the tree, again tacking it on. It's actually a lot whiter than the picture...
It's not only very white, it's also shiny from the tulle. I'm not finished with it but haven't quite decided what to do next with the tree. I want to keep it as a scrap project so no purchases. As the saying goes...stay tuned...
Today's goal is to finish decorating the tree and then continue to work on rearranging my studio.
Stay warm...or stay cool...depending on where you live...but be sure to stay safe...
Talk with you tomorrow...
