I'm back to exercising this week. Second morning back on the stationary bike - 30 minutes this morning. Also working on core, strength and balance using the Curtis Adams exercise videos on YouTube.
I don't know about you, but I do have some knee problems. Not enough to stop me from doing things, but enough to be bothersome. Walking upstairs is no problem, but walking down can be painful. I have been walking down the stairs backwards. I have no balance problems and a handrail to hold on to so it's not a concern for me. I decided to research walking down stairs backwards and found that it really is much easier on knees so I am going to continue walking backwards as long as I feel comfortable doing so. Interesting things that we do to accommodate our aging bodies! I'm not recommending this, just sharing how I am dealing with 79 year old knees.
Today I am going to, hopefully, get my glasses. When I went last week, there was no glasses place...guess they either closed or never opened!
I did finish organizing my studio. This week I am working on three boxes that I have been ignoring...basically things from my mom, my grandma and other family items. I began working on the first box yesterday and am about halfway through. One of the reasons I have not tackled them before is because I was not sure of what to do with things I thought should be saved.
For now, I have decided to get a couple large, sturdy, three ring binders and a box of page savers to insert paper items into...things like important papers, information on history, a few letters, birth and marriage invitations, etc. I am also going to get a sturdy, decorative box to put non paper items in along with information about the items.
Check out today's prompt from 'A Month of Getting It Together'. I hope you're finding the prompts helpful in getting ready for 2025.
Considering resolutions or goals that you may want to adopt for the year, we have talked about the first goal being something you want to do and the second talking about being good to yourself.
Another resolution or goal that I would like you to consider is to practice gratitude. Practicing gratitude has a wide range of benefits from being happier, less stress and anxiety, lower blood pressure, less depression, better sleep, etc., etc., etc.
How to practice gratitude? It can be as involved as a daily journal of things you are grateful for to as little as observing and appreciating everyday positive actions. One of the best ways is to think about all the nice things that happen during the day, even the little things, prior to going to sleep at night.
Think about adding gratitude as a goal. The benefits from doing so far outweigh any time spent doing it.
That's it for today...
I hope you have a great day...
Talk with you tomorrow...
