Well, it wasn't quite as cold this morning as yesterday.  Right now it's 12 degrees as opposed to the 4 degrees yesterday morning.  So the weather is beginning to moderate and warm up a bit.  High today is in the mid-twenties and bright and sunny.

Do you play?  I mean do you do something for fun?  I've been playing with Legos.  I have several Lego sets to put together and over the past couple of days, I began doing just that.  Right now I am working on Lego flowers.

If you're not familiar with Legos check them out and you will see tons of sets from Harry Potter, to Star Wars, to Botanicals, etc.  It's like putting together a 3-D puzzle.

Did you know that playing is good for you?  There are all types of benefits from learning a new task with fun to learning how to solve problems.  For children, play is actually the way they learn and it makes learning fun.  The same goes for adults.  Playing makes learning fun.

But playing for adults has other benefits.  For instance, playing reduces stress, your mood is much better, your creativity is increased, it contributes to your mental capabilities, etc.  So making sure that there is time to play in your schedule really is important.  I really hope you find the time to play.

Today's junk journal ephemera is pen holders.  They really are easy to make.  You need scissors, glue, a ruler and paper.  The best weight of paper is between regular copy paper and card board.  You can use any weight, but the less weight the paper has, the less sturdy it is.  And with heavy weight paper, adding a pen can be hard.

Paper with a design on both sides works best but if you don't have that, you can glue a piece of light weight designed paper to the inside so that there is a different design on the flaps.

Start with a six inch square piece of paper.  Fold into thirds.  And then fold the corners on one side down to the fold line.  Check out this picture of these three steps...

Next glue down the corner flaps.  Then put a line of glue at the bottom of the center and close one of the folded sides.  Then fold the remaining side over the first folded side gluing it to hold.  Be sure to let the glue dry.  Here are a couple examples...

An alternative to folding the corner flaps out is to fold them in and glue.  It does give a cleaner look.

So what's on your schedule for today?  Is there time for playing?  If not, find a few minutes and play.

That's all for now, talk with you tomorrow...
