Another cool, bright and sunny morning.  Highs today are in the low 70's.  Rain is back in the forecast but not until next week.  Probably from the two hurricanes in the Atlantic.

I decided to visit the museum in Bennington, Vt. tomorrow rather than today.  It's only an hour and a half from here so not a long trip.

Today, I have some things that need to be done including making dinner of boneless, center cut pork chops in a brown sugar-mustard marinade, zucchini fritters, smashed potatoes and a salad.  Still deciding on dessert.

So I was able to work in the studio yesterday and I finished quilting the winter scene and I was even able to finish it completely...

It's about three feet square in size.  I still need to give it a good ironing but looks really good in person.  The trees, deer and cabin are only outlined and the rest of the area is heavily quilted with metallic thread so those three items stand out.

Once this piece was finished, I began another piece using fabric scraps...

I have added a lot more to these 'mountains' including shadowing fabric and it's much wider.  I'm not sure where I am going with this piece yet.  I just pulled out fabric scraps, some canvas and began without a plan just to see what would happen.

The last 'routine' challenge is posted.  October begins tomorrow...a new month, a new word and a new challenge.  Stay tuned.

Have a wonderful day and do something special for yourself...

Talk with you tomorrow...
