We still have quite a bit of snow on the ground but we did lose a lot on the streets and sidewalks when the temperatures reached the mid 40's.

I ran across something that has peaked my interest.  It's a year long project with one prompt a month lead by Daniela Mellen at 'Stitch With Me'.

She has instructions to begin by gathering fabric to create a small fabric book (about 6 by 6 inches).  You don't put the book together until the end of the year but you work on one page each month.  One of her prompts last year was 'circles'.  You then create a small page using that prompt however it works for you.  Easy, simple and slow stitching.  If you're interested check out 'Stitch With Me'.  I am definitely going to partake this year.

And speaking of 'slow-stitching', that seems to be one of the trends for the new year.  Kind of a 'back to basics', calming trend whether it's embroidery, quilting, crocheting, etc.

I was actually thinking about doing something similar on my blog...a monthly prompt for a 12 inch square hand stitched quilt block.  Still working out the plans...but it will begin January 5th rather than the 1st.

How are you doing during this 'twixmas' time?  If you have the opportunity to just simply be, I hope you take it and just relax, maybe daydream about the coming year.

And, although I don't want you to write anything down just yet, if you have some time, think about what you intend to accomplish this coming year.  I usually take the month of January to really think about and implement 'goals' or 'intentions' for the year.  Putting together a list so soon after the hustle and bustle of the holidays doesn't give ample time to really think quietly about what you want to do.

Tomorrow is New Year's Eve...I may or may not have guests for New Year's day but either way is fine.  I plan on making it a quiet, relaxing day, watching the Rose Parade and football, of course, and enjoying a nice, easy meal.

Take care, be safe and rest

Talk with you later...
