It's warm...in the high 30's! But yesterday and today are really, really cloudy...as in it's hard to believe the time because it's so dark. The street lights are still on!
So, remember the saying 'the best laid plans...etc.? Well, yesterday my fruitcake cupcakes just did not turn out well. They are okay but the first batch had too many fruits in it and second batch didn't have the same sharp taste. Don't get me wrong, they are good just not like previous years.
Today I finish cleaning the dining room and kitchen, move down the Christmas dishes and make spinach pies! I know, spinach pies are normally an Easter dish but someone requested them so they are going to be made.
Remember the winter village we made out of recycled things? Well, I haven't had an opportunity to add to it yet but I thought it would be nice to see the village all together on 'snow'. Actually, I used an old flannel sheet for the snow. Check out the village...
I had fun making this over the past weeks, I hope you enjoyed making a village also. And after Christmas I plan to add more to the village.
Speaking of Christmas, I hope you realize that it is tomorrow! This is the last day to get everything in order. But after all the celebration is done, the meal eaten, please, please, please take time to relax and enjoy season. If Christmas is your holiday, then you have at a minimum 12 days to enjoy. If you celebrate Kwansaa, that begins in two days, December 26th!
So to all of you, my wish is that you have a wonderful celebration with family and friends, or even yourself. I will not be posting the rest of this week but I plan on posting next week. Be safe, be careful, have fun, laugh a lot and love one another.
