I noticed yesterday that there is a second round of peonies getting ready to bloom. I need to get out and deadhead the spent blooms, cutting down to the first set of leaves.
That will be on today's outdoor to-do list. I am going to weed around the patio area and transplant some hosta plants. Weeds have really taken over this area.
I also want to dig up and remove the rose plant by the patio and plant it with the rest of the roses. It has not produced any flowers in the past two years...only thorns!
I want, to work in the greenhouse and start some salad fixing seeds to see if I can grow enough to eat...green salads are a big staple in our summer menus and it would be nice to save money by growing our own. Have you seen the price of lettuce that weighs next to nothing?
I did spend time in the studio...I even finished unpacking and organizing the studio this past weekend! I didn't really want to start a new project so I spent time making ephemera for journals. I follow Natasha on 'Treasure Books' and she had a segment making 'canning jar' cards. I began by tearing the jar shapes out of discarded book pages. Then decorating them and finally gluing them to heavy duty file folder paper. Check these out...
I also made a couple collages on heavy paper...
Finally, I worked on exploding hearts. I cut out several heart shapes and then cut the hearts into several pieces. I mixed the pieces up and glued them down after inking the edges...
I have inexpensive laminating equipment but one way to achieve the same effect but a little less stiff is to use clear packing tape on both sides of an object which is what I did with the heart on the left.
I did 32 minutes on the stationary bike but the fitness app only registered 27 minutes. I'm not sure why the discrepancy but it is frustrating. At any rate, today is when I begin adding the second round of exercises.
I'm working on my 'Summer Camp' project deciding what I want to include. I want to make it easy to follow, easy to adapt if change is needed but include all those things I want to do but never seem to get around to doing!
My aim is to begin next Monday and, as with the blog, incorporate week days only keeping the weekends free of structure.
Have an absolutely wonderful day...
Talk with you tomorrow...
