Short Post tonight

Well, it rained again today...hard. AND I have some ants in the trailer. Can't really blame them, their houses have been destroyed by all the water. Just wish they hadn't decided to visit my home. But I suspect that when things dry up (Does it ever dry completely in Mobile?) they will stop foraging and leave. Either that, or I will be leaving!!!! One way or the other, the problem will disappear.

I have some more pictures from the park. How do you like the attitude in the bottom picture? I think I would steer clear of that goose...

And here are a few more flowers. I still could not get over how beautiful the flowers were...

I tried to find a long, lost friend today. Found an address but no one home. Going to try again this weekend. Hopefully someone will be there. I think it has been at least twenty-three years since we've seen each other...lot's of catching up to do. Wish me luck on Saturday.

CRAFTING IDEAS

I decided to play with box making. (That was one of the demonstrations this past weekend but they included fabric.). So I first made a box shape out of a flyer that was card stock weight. I used my grid that makes fold marks - one size for the bottom and the same size plus one grid mark for the top. After folding, I cut the fold marks at both ends, overlapped them and glued using my stick glue. I then used scrap decorative paper to cover the entire box, inside and out. The top and bottom were loose before adding the scrap paper but after adding it, they fit nicely. It was an easy, fun and fast craft. And the result was really cute.

(New). 'Happy Hinges' is another article that is in this magazine. Hinges being your joints. The actual way joints work is explained and how they can be injured. But the article also points out the need for movement and exercise to keep mobile well into your sunset years. Five points include adding some weight training during the week; don't do the same exercises all the time; move for ten minutes every morning; keep your weight healthy and watch what you eat. Very sensible suggestions which we hear all the time but which many of us fail to do. What we need to do is create some healthy habits - right?

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

Habits...are they rigid and demanding or do they help with with the everyday life? We probably all know someone who has a habit and sticks to it without any deviation no matter the circumstances. As I said, habits can be a good thing but not when adhered to so inflexibly. The definition of habit is 'a settled or regular tendency or practice'. One thing to consider is why you have established or fallen into a habit. Is the habit something that is of help to you; or is it something you do...'out of habit' only? Consider that when you list your habits?
