I guess it's time to begin taking down the Christmas decorations...Easter and spring will be here soon. I still love to look at my tree all lite up with the ornaments shining. But, next year will be here soon enough!!
I did enjoy my weekend. I hope you took some time to enjoy yours. I got out my first love in creating pictures...
Yep, colored pencils! I took several classes from a great teacher - Hedy Swartz - when I lived in NYC. Her pictures were stunning. Mine are so-so. Here are a couple of mine...
Sometimes I draw from real life and sometimes from pictures. I like Warren Kimble's work and that inspired the middle picture which is what I worked on this weekend.
I did manage to get a start on last week's journal page...remember the prompt? 'Smile - Life is Full of Surprises'...
When I was taking a class on doodling journal pages, one of the things they used was "White-Out". I never really had success with it BUT I love to use a white "Painters" opaque paint marker. It always works for me - unless I run out of paint!!
If you haven't noticed, there's a new thought for the month - 'Be Open to Life's Gifts'. I believe that there are a lot of gifts out there...we just have to accept them. Friendships. Time. Inspiration.
I'm always amazed at the folks who won't take the gifts right in front of them. It's just like the old adage: You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink. Folks can see what's out there waiting for them, but they have to be the ones to embrace the gifts.
There's a new journal prompt: '
My Inspiration to Fully Live Life
is...'
Thanks for dropping in...
Enjoy yourself...
