So how was your weekend? Mine was spent busily trying to finish up the ornaments and gifts for the Ornaments Galore swap over at Roses On My Table. Remember these...
Well, after trying several different options, this is what I came up with...
I made the nest and bird out of paperclay, painted with acrylic paints and finished with diamond glaze. I used dried moss for the nesting material and small flowers all attached with hot glue. First I used four silver chains for hanging but did not like it. I found a 'rat-tail' type of yarn and that just finished the ornament perfectly. The color works well with the nest and bird and flowers, don't you think.
Anyway, the ornaments are on their way along with enough of these crocheted hearts and a little welcome note to all the participants...
I don't use candles in the trailer but I found the most wonderful Drizzle Melts by Swan Creek Candle Company. It's called Vanilla Pound Cake and I found that if I just leave the package open, the heat from the sun gives off just the right amount of background smell. Refreshing and sweet all at the same time.
The view from my patio doors is beautiful...
The Hot Air Balloons take off about an inch from the left edge of the top picture. It's fun to watch. And very colorful when lots of balloons take off. I actually did not know that they operate at this time of year but, as I have seen them, they obviously do!
I want to pass on a great site for you to check out on You Tube. It's called the Piano Guys. You have to watch to see how these guys play music, especially on the piano. It's amazing to watch as well as to listen. Check it out. You won't believe it.
Remember when I showed you an acrylic painting which was done entirely with abandonment a couple weeks ago. I enjoyed that freedom so much that I tried it again. This time I wanted to add the element of lines...
I really enjoy doing this exercise. It stretches out the edges of the box that I sometimes seem to put myself in...
Well, that's it for today. By the way, there's a new monthly thought and a new weekly journal prompt posted. Check them out and, better yet, try creating with them. I thought the monthly thought about light and dark could lead to some interesting creations.
Thanks for visiting...
See you tomorrow...
