It was another beautiful day today, a bit cool, but when the wind died down and the sun shone, it was deliciously warm and just plain wonderful.
I took a picture of the sky thinking it was simply blue with a few white clouds at the horizon. Imagine my surprise at the photograph that appeared after downloading it to my computer...
...what looked plain was anything but. The wispy clouds picked up by the camera made me realize that sometimes we only see the surface and miss all the details and intrigue just sitting below that awareness.
The kitties certainly enjoyed being outside...
Some of you wonder if I would ever let them be outside without the fence. Probably not. If things go the way I plan, they will be living in the trailer for a few more months and then in a very, very, very small apartment. I think it would be hard for them to adjust from outdoor freedom to a studio apartment the size of a shoebox!!!
While walking around, I took some interesting pictures of plant life. For instance, dandelions...I actually found some...only three but who knew that even here in the mountains, dandelions survived...
I also found lots and lots of these tiny, tiny yellow flowers. Honestly, they are so small that it is hard to see them. Think half the size of a pencil eraser...
And I loved these two dried up weeds...
I did manage to do a bit of painting...again the type of free painting...no structure, no preconceived ideas, just putting brush in paint and then on canvas. I like the results...
I'm not sure if this type of painting accomplishes anything but if does give me freedom to paint what I want rather than what I should. I find it completely different from my work with colored pencils. Yes, I did draw what I wanted but it was far more structured and lots more discipline...and lots less freedom - at least in my mind.
I managed to get in several hours of writing on my project today. Even better, I enjoyed the writing. It seems that once I get into the flow of writing, words just come tumbling out in a coherent way...who would have guessed.
Right now I am trying to come up with a personal challenge that I can do on my blog next month. Something similar to my Inchie A Day Challenge, but not in the same vein. I have a couple ideas such as photographing a picture of texture each day, or creating a poem a day, or drawing a small picture.
I recently purchased a Zentangle book called One Zentangle A Day...maybe I could publish a picture of my daily Zentangles. Any other ideas? Well, I have a few more days to go before deciding...
Thanks for visiting today...
See you tomorrow...
By the way, no matter who your team was, that was a great basketball game last night. I was cheering UConn but both teams played so well that I was just happy to watch the game.
