But, first, the mountains, and yes, to
those of you in the west who think of the eastern mountains as simple foothills, they are mountains. Anyway, for some reason, I thought I
would miss driving through them.
But when I crossed the line into
Tennessee I really freaked. What do you mean Tennessee? Nothing
against the state. It's really beautiful but I wanted to avoid
mountains at all costs.
So I stopped at the first rest stop,
looked at the route and realized that, yes, the fastest route was to drive halfway through Tennessee and hang a left. And since I was already
in Tennessee, I decided to keep on going.
I finally made it to my campsite. On
the way, though, I kept thinking that the road noise Lady J was
making seemed to get a bit louder.
Now, let me remind you that in
Maryland, my trailer was open with folks going in and out, checking
the electricity when the campsite folks thought it was my trailer and
not the campsite that had the electrical problem.
I should also ask you if you know what
stinkbugs are? They are about the size of a dime, brown and fly
like ladybugs. They are harmless but they swarm...I think you can
guess where I'm going...
Back to Asheville. I got Duchess completely set up and sat down to relax and read a book.
When I pulled out a book about a dozen bugs came out with it. It
was about five in the afternoon when I began cleaning the inside of
the trailer to get rid of literally hundreds, if not thousands, of
those little bugs. It was four in the morning when I finished. Not fun. Not fun at all.
So, I am now at a hotel with the
kitties and my daughter, celebrating birthdays. (Duchess is fine
and waiting at the campsite!) But I needed to check out the noise Lady J was making. So this morning I took her to a
Ford Company.
Got a
call while we were at the Biltmore...seems like Lady J's wheel
assembly had a problem and needed to be replaced! Costs about the
same as Duchess! Think there's a bit of jealously going on? She
will be ready tomorrow afternoon. The service person said it was a
good thing I brought her in now because if I waited until it broke,
it would cost about three times more!
So you see, the saga did continue...
The trees have not turned around here at all, this is
the closest thing I could find...
The Biltmore is spectacular. I only
took a couple pictures because my camera was in the car. The scenes
of the countryside were beautiful...
This picture was taken facing the sun
so it's not too great...
Tomorrow, more Biltmore plus a few other sites. I hope to take more pictures...
Thanks for visiting...
See you tomorrow...
